Additional FAQS:

Why Choose a Mobile Exercise Physiologist?

Mobile exercise physiologists offer the convenience of receiving specialised care without the need to travel to a clinic or gym. This is particularly beneficial for individuals with mobility issues or those who prefer the comfort and privacy of their homes.

What Conditions Can a Mobile Exercise Physiologist Help With?

Mobile exercise physiologists are equipped to assist individuals dealing with a wide range of conditions, including chronic illnesses (eg. diabetes, heart disease), musculoskeletal injuries, neurological disorders, and age-related health concerns. They tailor exercise programs to address your unique and specific needs and reach your goals.

How Does a Home Visit Work?

The process typically begins with an initial assessment during which the exercise physiologist evaluates your current health, fitness levels, and any existing medical conditions. Based on this assessment, they will then design a personalised exercise program that is safe and effective for you. Subsequent home visits involve implementing and adjusting the program as needed and will have you kicking goals and feeling better than ever.

Do I Need Special Equipment for Home-Based Exercise Physiology?

In most cases, mobile exercise physiologists bring the necessary equipment with them for your sessions. However, you may need some basic items that you probably already have at home, such as comfortable workout clothing and suitable footwear. Your exercise physiologist will provide guidance on any additional equipment requirements that you may need.

How Can I Arrange a Home Visit from a Mobile Exercise Physiologist?

To schedule a home visit from a mobile exercise physiologist, you can contact our team at Gen Physio. The exercise physiologists at Gen Physio offer mobile exercise physiology services that are suited to your individual needs. They will guide you through the process of setting up an initial assessment and planning your personalised exercise program to get you feeling like yourself again.

FAQs

What can I expect from the initial session?

Exercise physiologists use the initial consult to get to know you, and how we can best help you. We try to get to know your medical history, lifestyle and physical activity habits, so that we can develop goals together to best serve your needs.

After we get to know you, your exercise physiologist will develop a few assessments that will give us some baseline information. These assessments will then be redone after a few sessions, so that we are able to see if the exercises we have given you have allowed you to progress towards your goals.

What is Hydrotherapy and do you provide it?

Hydrotherapy is best defined as therapeutic exercise completed in a heated pool and can be very beneficial as it assists in improving pain management, mobility, cardiovascular endurance and muscular strength.

All our exercise physiologists have experience with hydrotherapy, and often see clients at pools within the community. Your exercise physiologist will complete an assessment, and work with you to formulate a plan to allow you to complete hydrotherapy in a safe and beneficial environment.

You can learn more about the treatment and benefits by visiting our Hydrotherapy page.
