Happy Foot Health Week everyone!
This week we’d like to share the story of Roger, one of our podiatry clients, who was first attended to by our Podiatrist Cherie for a lower-limb check-up last year.
Roger has an acquired brain injury that causes neurological symptoms such as weakness and numbness on the left side of his body. This means he has a highly unstable gait, and therefore many trips and falls. By closely liaising with a pedorthist (medical grade bootmaker), Cherie was able to organise some footwear modifications for Roger to use.
He’s always had a terrific outlook on life and now even more so with his new shoes. We’ll leave you all with something Roger told us at his last appointment:
“You know what’s good about having a numb foot? At least it’s not painful!” We’re sure there’s a lesson in there somewhere for all of us.
