Client Story: Lewis

14 Sep, 2021

Meet Lewis and his Occupational Therapist, Bianca. Lewis has a level 3 Diagnosis of ASD and prior to Bianca’s appointments spent a lot of time on the couch with technology.

Bianca’s ASD sessions with Lewis involved engaging in activities like playing Simon Says, rolling/throwing the ball and learning animal poses. Lewis was especially receptive to the sticker chart Bianca made for him and when they included his favourite show ‘Thomas the Tank Engine’ in their sessions.

A few months ago Lewis and his family moved from Melbourne to Sydney which meant that his appointments with Bianca changed to a Telehealth session virtually. However, despite both cities facing the challenges of lockdown, Bianca is so pleased with how much progress Lewis is making in his appointments.

Here’s some of what Bianca had to say about her sessions with Lewis: “I love seeing Lewis’ big smile and when he gets excited about our actives during the session. It’s extremely reassuring and wonderful to hear Lewis’ Mum continually praise my efforts so I’m always excited for our time together even if it is virtually.”

We love sharing good stories like this, especially in these tough times. Keep up the amazing work everyone!
